Shumpei Nemoto

I am interested in practicing choreography, facilitating, mentoring, capturing images, and delving deeply into various artistic and creative processes.

These pursuits consistently lead me to valuable learning opportunities, which drive my exploration.

Shumpei Nemoto started his dance career at the Royal Ballet in 2000 and subsequently danced at Deutsche Oper Am Rhein and Cullberg Ballet from 2004 to 2013.

Since 2013, He has transitioned into a guest choreographer and teacher, contributing his expertise to various European dance companies and universities. He has also partly worked as a project rehearsal director at Norrdans and Scottish Dance Theater since 2014.

Beside his collaborative and commissioned work, he presented his dance works at Tanztheater International Hannover, Unterwegstheater in Heidelberg, Scenario Pubblico in Catania, Tokyo Arts and Space, and more.

Additionally, he was a supported artist at Steep Slope Studio in Yokohama, Japan, from 2018 to 2022.
